New Beginnings

What a glorious, magnificent day!

For sometime now, I have felt this lacking in my life. For a while, I couldn't figure out what it was. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks when I was going through the radio stations in my car one day when I stopped on the local Christian Radio station. I was missing God. My spirit didn't have a home. No matter what I did, I never felt fully fulfilled with my life. I was going to school, about to graduate, I had great friends and family and a wonderful significant other, but I still couldn't shake the feeling something was not right.

Staying on that radio station that day changed my life forever.

It took a while (over a year to be exact) for me to actually attend a worship. I was scared that I would be ostrasized for not being Godly enough at first...I was scared to go on my own because I had no one to go with... I had no time, etc., etc., etc.. Then it finally hit me this past Saturday, you make time for God, no one who is with the Lord will make fun of you, they will just be happy to see you there and I wasn't going to church alone...God was with me. He was sitting right beside me in that pew yesterday. I could feel him for the first time in my life.

I was raised Catholic and attended church every Sunday in my earlier years, but after that, I just fell away from it. I always found the Catholic sermons to be hard to understand. It was too straight out of the Bible for me I think. I needed something that I could relate to my own life. The way they talked about God and the Bible at this church was very easy to relate to my every day life. How exciting.

I cried in church...I actually cried because being there felt so good...so perfect. I told God I was sorry that I have been away for so long, but that I wanted him in my life now for good.

"Forever I will praise Him."

Today was a brighter day. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but I think it's because God is happy with me. He is proud of me. He is showing me.

Yes.

"Forever I will praise Him."
